Master Brax Boyd, Phd.

Master Brax Boyd has enjoyed an outstanding and diversified sports and fitness career which has included excellence in many different sports including football at the University of Texas at Arlington in the early 1970's.

With a strong background in sports conditioning methods including the newly introduced Nautilus clinics in the mid 1970's, and over-all competition skills on many levels, Master Boyd began his study of Tae Kwon Do under the legendary J. Pat Burleson and earned his 1st Degree Black Belt in 1977.

In addition to his martial arts instructor skills, he earned his Master's Degree in 1987 in Political Science and later his Ph.D. in higher education administration at the University Of North Texas. He presently serves as an adjunct faculty member in Political Science at both Tarrent County Junior College and Ceder Valley College.

Today Master Boyd is a 5th Degree Black Belt and has operated his Grand Prairie Karate Academy since 1984. He has coached many of his students to championship levels in TKL competition.

Master Boyd hosts the first TKL event every year, the highly successful TKL Grand Prairie Invitational.
