Four definitive values released on Feb. 23 kicked off a new series of definitive for Taiwan, in replace of the six-year acient engrave series. The new series, scheduled to be issued separately in different sets, will consist of 16 singles, each featuring one kind of fruit. As a result of geography and climate, as well as the hard work of scholars, experts and farmers, nowadays fruits have become one of the pillars of Taiwan rural economy and have brought Taiwan with a lot of foreign exchange.
The new stamps, valued at NT$5.00, NT$7.00, NT$12.00 and NT$25.00, depict apples, guavas, pears and melons.
