Deuch Post released 5 more Queen Beatrix Definitive and 10 Congratulations
stamps on September 3.
The 5 Queen stamps, using the design by Peter Struyken from 1981 based on a photo of Queen Beatrix taken by Vincent Mentzel, are self-adhesive and bear only denominations in Guilders. In this situation, these stamps will only have a use span less than 4 months, and will be replaced by Euro counter-value on Jan., 1 2002. The five stamps denominated as 1g, 1g10, 1g45, 2g50 and 5g, all self-adhesive. The re-issue of the 10 x Congratulations are subjected to the transition
period from the Guilders to the Euros, and are indicated in both guilders
and euros in order to familiarise consumers with the new currency. Starting
in 2002, these stamps will only be issued in euro denominations. The stamps
are appropriate for almost every occasion for extending congratulations,
and the two Success stamps are particularly fitting for those moments to
wish someone good luck. The Amsterdam design agency Experimental Jetset
selected a typographical motif. By using a few simple lines, reference
is made to notepaper and envelopes. Each stamp has its own rhythm which
is determined by the length and repetition of the selected word.
