In accommodate the change in international postage rates, Auspost revealed
on August 23 four new international definitives to replace the old ones.
The new stamps are:
$1.10: Coonawarra, South Australia (replaces $1 Mt Roland, Tasmania) $1.65: Gariwerd-Grampians, Victoria (replaces $1.50 Cape Leveque, W.Australia) $2.20: National Library of Australia, Australian Capital Territory (replaces $2 Cradle Mountain, Tasmania) $3.30: Cape York, Queensland (replaces $3.00 Pinnacles, Western Australia) The stamps are the fourth series in the international range. The range was introduced in 2000 to ensure that Australia Post complied with the Australian Government's then new tax legislation. The series is characterised by the stamps' distinctive shape, International Post branding and photographic panoramic images.
