To enhance the convenience of stamp users, two types of 190-won self-adhesive
definitive postage stamps featuring the Aquilegia flabellata Sieb. et Zucc.
var. pumila Kudo and Malus asiatica Nakai and a 420-won non-standard definitive
postage stamp for priority mail (under 50 grams) have been newly issued.
In the 420-won postage stamp, the existing design (vehicles) for priority
mail stamp will continue to be used, with only a change in color to a bluish
green.
Aquilegia flabellata Sieb. et Zucc. var. pumila Kudo Aquilegia flabellata Sieb. et Zucc. var. pumila Kudo belongs to the family of Ranunculaceae and is also called Sanmaebaltop. This perennial plant grows in rocky areas in mid-slope of high mountains in the northern regions of Korea. The plant stands about 30 centimeters high and its purple or dark blue folwers bloom to 3 to 4 centimeters in diameter. One to three blooms of flowers bloom, facing downward, at the end of the stem in July and August. Malus asiatica Nakai Malus asiatica Naka belongs to the family of Rosaceae is a deciduous
shrub that has long been grown in houses in Korea's south central region.
Four to seven blossoms of light reddish flowers bloom in April and May.
It produces yellowish red fruits that are about 5 centimeters in diameter.
It resembles an apple tree in shape and color but is smaller in size than
apples and has a more sour taste.
