Self-Adhesive "B" Stamp
Self-adhesive stamps are now popular all over the world, including Switzerland,
that's why Swiss Post reissued on May 9 the basic rate Non-Priority "B"
stamp in self-adhesive version. The 70c stamp with the popular design of
lovable St. Bernard from the "Souvenirs" set (issued on March 2000) has
been chosen to champion "B" mail.
The new self-adhesive stamp was presented in format of booklet of 12
and coil of 100. For the convenience credit-card format, the size of the
actual stamps and the way they are printed, the booklets contain 12 stamps,
instead of the usually 10. The coil of 100, contained in a white lightweight
cardboard box, is the first time of Swiss Post to issue self-adhesive stamp
in coil form. The last 8-10 stamps of each coil are marked with red marks
on the back to indicate the end of the coil.
