On Sep. 20 Swiss post expanded the Tourism Series with three new values:
0.90CHF Family Holidays, 1.00CHF Boat Trip and 1.10CHF Winter Sports.
0.90CHF Family Holidays
Family holidays nowadays are great idea for anyone to enjoy vacations
with fimily numbers. In the facts that all the destinations are fairly
close and most of them are accessible by public transport, Swizerland is
a year-round holiday paradise for families, promising plenty of fun and
variety.
Farm holidays are particularly attractive for families, and any number
of farms all over Swizerland offer great bases for active or relaxing vacations
- a tremendous oppotunity to get back to Nature and establish contract
with people, animals and un-spoiled environment.
The left side of the stamp shows a typical farmhouse from near Willisau
in the Napf Region of the Emmental. On the right side, a close contact
with animals.
1.00CHF Boat Trip
Water is to summer as snow is to winter. The epitome of freedom is standing
in the bow of a ship, deeling the wind in your hair and the occasional,
refreshing splash of spray on your face, admiring the sparkling water and
the impressive panorama on the horizon. There is nothing like it to conjure
up the holiday mood. In Switzerland with its many lakes, boat trip go down
well with tourists. So many visits satisfied themselves with unforgettable
experiences, glistening in the sun with lofty peaks in the backgrounds.
1.10CHF Winter Sports
Activities in snow inevitably involve combining nature at its most impressive
with sporting experiences, drinking in the beautiful surroundings while
savouring the thrill of action-packed days. Snow offers any number of pleasure
- breath-taking descents, deep snow wedel runs, cross country skiing or
the more recent challenges of carving skis. Switzerland's reputation for
quality built up among people of all ages during the 20th century is more
important than ever, making its snow covered mountains with their huge
adventure potential a major destination magnet.
The left-hand side of the stamp shows part of the expanse of ice on
the Kleine Matterhorn glacier in Canton Valais, while the right-hand side
spotlights skiing, one of the most popular and commonest winter sports.
