Tourism - Music, Catering and Swimming
To meet with the new rate effective from July 1, 2000, Swiss Post issued on June 21 a set of three definitive stamps. These stamps are the first bunch of a new definitive series: Tourism. The stamps are:

CHF 1.20, Music.

Nowadays, culture became more and more appeal as a tourism attraction. Music and architecture, as the representation of the culture, are selected as this stamp's motif. As a classical musical instrument, violins are also used in religious music, thus linking two completely different arts and cultures: music and architecture. The Payerne Church as shown in the left of the stamp is a representative of many sublime buildings dated back to Rome times.

CHF 1.30, Catering.

Visiting and joining special dietetic is one of the good memories of the tourism. The little church of St. Saphorin occupies a picturesque location. What could be more pleasant than to stop in a restaurant in the vine yards an savour a glass of cool local wine? St. Saphorin lies among the vineyards of Canton Vaud's Lavaux district, on the shore of Lake Geneva. Whites from this area are dry and powerful, with a fruity note, perfectly with fish and cheese dishes.

CHF 1.80, Swimming.

Switzerland has a long tradition of spa bathing and cures, often dating back to time immemoria, as in the case of the hot springs in Baden, Lostorf and Yverdon-le-Bains. Over the centuries, bathing therapy has changed a lot. Stays in spa resorts which used to be the preserve of a wealthy upper class are now eapecially popular with senior citizens. The distinction between stays in health resorts and wellness is becoming increasingly blurred. Wellness stands for an outlook and a philosophy of life and means harmony of body, mind and soul. So, come and having a relaxation in water,  in Vals which is pictured on stamp and is the only hot spring in the Grisons.
