Day 56- Look for “The Dave Story” on CBS or some network, because Dave officially became a hero today. But first, let me explain why I haven’t posted in such a long time. We have blinds that sit over our windows in the room, and as I was putting mine down for the night, the blind decided to detach itself from the wall and deposit itself squarely onto my laptop computer’s mouse. I can no longer type for more than two letters at a time, so once again, I’m back at Steve and Ben’s room. But enough about me, I know that you all come here for Dave, so onward and upward… We have a broken elevator in our dorm. It’s not such an uncommon occurrence, simply annoying. Well Dave & Co., about 8 or 9 people all told, decided to try to make this elevator work after a night of not-so-hard drinking. They forced the doors open, and all piled inside, because it’s so cool to try to ride a non-functional elevator. As expected, the elevator didn’t go up. However, the elevator did begin to sink, and the doors closed on them. The situation looked bleak. The elevator eventually sank about 4 feet below its original point. Conversation dwindled to a minimum to help conserve the oxygen. But then, a mighty wind blew. The doors of the elevator slowly began to separate. A pair of hands emerged, then forearms, and then a chubby little belly with a dragon t-shirt over it, and then…YES!!! Dave emerged victorious from the elevator! He turned to face his comrades and one by one lifted them to safety, snatching them from the jaws of certain being able to make it out of the elevators on their own anyway. When all were gathered, they gave thanks, and made their way to the working elevator. It was a good day, and Dave…I salute you. | |||||
