Chemical Weapons
Chemical weapons are missiles or mortars which contain a chemical (agent) which is either very toxic, highly corrosive or hard to get rid of. These missiles or mortars need to be capable of delivering their contents effectively. The chemicals used are effective even in small amounts, they also stay in effective for some time. Such an example of the chemicals used as a weapon of mass destruction is 'sarin', this nerve gas can kill even when it is in very small amounts. Chemical weapons are not manufactured widely by most nations, since they have nuclear weapons. However terrorists are able to manufacture and use these weapons on a large scale, because these weapons are easy to make. However antidotes against such agents exist and they can be produced in very large amounts and in a short time when needed. Thus such weapons do not provide a huge success in wars. So far the use of chemical weapons has been widespread only in the far past such as World War One. Nowadays the use of such weapons is virtually non-existent.
