I have been photographing bands and putting them up on this wesite since the start of 2003. For most photos I use my SLR camera; a Minolta Dynax 404si and a 50mm prime lense (A treasure in istelf!) I religiously use Fuji Color press 800 film and sometimes Fuji Superia 800, but only if I don't have any color press.

I first got the urge to photograph bands after seeing You Am I when I was pretty young. I hadn't seen them before and was amazed by what I saw, but the next day I felt kind of empty after anticipating the event for such a long time. I tried to explain to my dad (who has a big interest in music too) just how awesome the band was, but I was unable to put into words what I saw, so I decided that the next gig I went to I'd take a camera. I went to an all ages gig (Motorace or Eskimo Joe or seomthing like that) armed with a small automatic camera. The shots were terrible, but I still liked the fact that I was able to photograph the bands. So I did some research and found out what type of camera and lense I needed for band photography, and after buying what I needed I went out and shot some terrible rolls of film, but I learned from my mistakes (and have not repeated them!) and eventually, I got under way and started taking some half decent shots.

If you have any comments, suggestions, reccomendations of bands to see/photograph, or any general questions, then e-mail me at

Also, if you are a band in Adelaide and have a gig you'd like photographed, e-mail me! I'd love to photograph you!

And if you are keen to try photographing bands but don't know anything about it, I'm always willing to help you out if I can, because I know how confusing it can be at first! So just e-mail me and ask!!
