| Creek Mountain, Colorado, 1994- Enter our main charactors. A hardened soldier, Colonel Jack O'Neil, and an 'otherwordly academic' anthroploigist-archeologist-linguist, Dr. Daniel Jackson. Colonel O'Neil's son had recently died, having shot himself with O'Neil's gun, because of this Colonel O'neil was willing to go on the original Stargate mission, as it was likely suicide. Dr. Jackson held unpopular theories about ancient Egypt, such as who and when the pyramids were built. He was hired as a 'civilian advisor' to translate the coverstone found in Giza. |

| Creek Mountain Cont'd- Dr. Jackson solved, in two weeks, the mystery of the coverstone- the symbols in the cartouche weren't words, they were constellations. After finding the 'seventh symbol' (seen in lighter blue in the background) the military base was able to activate the Stargate, and sent a probe through, confirming that it sent it to another planet, light years from Earth, in a matter of seconds. Colonel O'Neil then leads a team through, with Dr. Jackson accompaning, to activate the Stargate on the otherside and take them back home. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Alien Planet(Abydos)-They arrive on the planet Abydos, and Dr. Jackson can't get them home right away because he can't find the cartouche that should contain the address home. Dr. Jackson gets dragged halfway across the desert by a cow-like creature called a mastadge, and thus they find the village of Nagada, that looks like an ancient Egyptian villiage, including having a giant golden eye of Ra. They find that Abydos is ruled by the god-like king Ra, who is truly a parasitic alien inside a human body. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
