A Clone of My Own

cubert_aclone (8K) The crew throw the professor a surprise 150th birthday party at Mars University, where he realises that he's not long for this world. He decides to name an heir, and disappears into his lab. He emerges later, having made himself a clone, Cubert. He wants Cubert to follow in his footsteps, but Cubert finds his inventions ridiculous and wants to do something else. Despairing, the professor admits that he's actually 160, not 150. When people turn 160 they are taken to a mysterious planet, the Near Death Star. The crew go to the planet, with Fry posing as the professor in order to rescue him. The old people are being kept in a fantasy world in the Matrix style. They find the Professor's chamber and save him. Due to a bump on the head escaping the near death star, Cubert wants to be an inventor.

Quotes:

Fry: When I was asked to make this film, I thought "Why should I?", then later, Leela made the film. But if I had made it, you can bet there would have been more topless women on motorcycles! Roll film!

Leela: The professor's been gone an awfully long time.
Bender: I hope he didn't die. Unless he left a note naming me as his heir. Then I hope he did die.

Farnsworth: Goodbye cruel world! Goodbye cruel lamp! Goodbye cruel velvet drapes, lined with what would appear to be some kind of cruel muslin, with the cute little pom-pom curtain pulls, cruel though they may be...

Farnsworth: These afterburners deliver 200% fuel efficiency.
Cubert: That's especially impossible.
Farnsworth: Not at all!
Cubert: Well, explain it then.
Farnsworth: Now that's impossible. It came to me in a dream, and I forgot it in another dream.

Cubert: Why do I have to be the hump?
Fry: 'Cause you're too ugly to be a wart! Hehehe.
(Bender and Leela laugh)
