Nibbler

Less Than Hero

Clobberella Leela is on the phone to her parents, mutants, who are about to visit her on the surface. Leela and Fry are aching from putting together a 'Pi-Kea' flat-pack, and Zoidberg gives them some Miracle Cream he brought from a traveling salesman. Putting it on, they realise that it has given them superpowers, and they decide to fight crime as Clobberella and Captain Yesterday. Bender has costumes for them and they let him join as SuperKing. They fight crime for a while, and have to foil a plan by the Zookeeper, a villain who controls animals and plans to steal a jemerald from a museum. He is late for the heist, and Leela misses the visit from her parents. They foil the zookeeper but he escapes. To explain why she didn't show up for her parent's visit, Leela reveals that she's clobberella. Her father blabs and the zookeeper finds out out kidnaps Leela's parents. They will be eaten by land-pirrhanas unless they steal and return the jemerald. The gang are out of Miracle Cream, but they put on their costumes and steal the jemerald, and no-one realises that they have no powers. Leela is re-united with her parents, and Bender and Fry go to steal more stuff.

Quotes:

Leela's Mom: I found this adorable little bag to wear over my head. And it was on sale!
Leela: No-one's wearing anything adorable over their head!

Amy: Are you off you're rocket? You're parents are mutants! It's illegal for them to come above ground 'cause they're inferior genetic scum! Uh, present company excluded, of course.
Leela: I'm getting them a special one-day service permit from City Hall.
Hermes: Ooh, while you're there, could you pick me up a liscence to kill?
Leela: Sure. Bare hands or weapon?
Hermes: Uh, what does piano wire count as?

Professor: Bad news, nobody!

Mugger: Hi! D'you have a minute? I live in Jersey city and my car broke down and I need to get home 'cause my aunt's real sick and she needs this medicine, but I need money for the bus. So I'm mugging you! Hand over your wallets.

Leela: We'd love to have you on the team, Bender, but aren't you more on the supply side of crime?

Bender: Hey, Fry, we still got our costume. Wanna steal some more stuff?
Fry: I guess, if you keep saying it's right.
Bender: Superheroes away!

The Miracle Cream says 'Dr. Flinflam's miracle cream' on the front and 'Warning - may cause superpowers in humans' on the back.

The subtitles for the Swedish robot have slashes through the 'o's.

The alien writing on the cream bottle:

The newspaper headline says 'No action on rates by Fed', with a tiny story saying 'Mysterious Vigilantes Foil Crime'.

The binary number that we see when Bender hits the Kangaroo is 01001010, or 74 in decimal form, which is a capital 'J' on the ASCII table. No idea if there's any significance.

Before the new justice team song, the same guys breaking a car from 'The Honking' and the organ seller from 'My Three Suns' can be seen.

A sign in the museum says 'No Admittance Without $8.00 Suggested Donation'
