Fry eats a truck stop egg sandwich, and, when the injuries sustained from a boiler
explosion miraculously heal, Zoidberg discovers that a society of highly advanced worms
has set up in his colon. They decide to send tiny versions of themselves into the body to
flush them out. Fry musn't know about it or the worms would be ready for them, so Leela
has to stay with him and keep him distracted. Inside his body, they see that the worms
are improving everything about him. They manage to reach his colon, and fight off worms
defending the nerve that will eject them. Meanwhile, Leela and Fry go for a walk, with
Fry's newfound intelligence and strength impressing Leela and finally letting him express
his feelings for her. He tells her that he loves her, and she realises how the worms have
made him a better person. She makes a version of herself and goes into Fry's body,
destroying the robots of the rest of the crew to stop them getting rid of the worms. She
takes Fry to her apartment, where he performs a beautiful visual sonnet on an instrument
called a holophoner. However, he realises that Leela has only loved him since he got the
worms, and sets out to destroy them, going inside his own body. There, he fights the
worms, arriving at the brain room, where he cuts various nerves, finally threatens to cut
the medulla oblongata, killing himself and the worms, unless they leave. He wins the
standoff and the worms leave. He goes back to Leela's apartment, being his old idiot self
to see if Leela still loves him, and she throws him out. Later in his apartment, he has
been learning to play the holophoner, and creates a simple picture of Leela.
