It's Nibbler's birthday and attention is lavished on him by everyone, making Bender feel left out. He resolves to make a birthday cake so delicious that everyone will have no choice but to love him. He makes an amazing cake, but Nibbler eats it all. Bender throws him down the toilet. Leela is devastated, and Bender is completely unsympathetic to her feelings. To let Bender feel human emotions, the Professor puts a chip in his head which makes him pick up other people's feelings, and tunes it to Leela's frequency. Annoyed about being so upset all the time, Bender flushes himself down the toilet and goes into the sewers to look for Nibbler. Fry and Leela meet him there. In the sewers, they find a civilisation of mutants who live off everything people flush down toilets. They are all terrified of a monster called El Chupanebre, and Leela thinks it might be Nibbler. They find Nibbler, who is almost eaten by the real El Chupanebre - an enourmous horrible green monster. Bender teaches Leela how to feel selfish so that he feels well enough to fight the monster. They get out of the sewers and the Professor takes out the chip. Bender has learnt nothing from the experience, but Leela now knows how to be selfish.

Fry: (whispering) Thanks for covering.

Bender: Hey, I got a busted ass here, but I don't see anyone kissing it!
Zoidberg: Alright, I'm coming.

Fry: Is it true that alligators that get flushed down the toilet survive down here?
Mutant girl: No, that's just a myth.
Fry: Then what what are those?
Mutant girl: Crocodiles.
