Where No Fan Has Gone Before

Spock Facing a trial by Zapp Brannigan, the PE crew, along with the cast of Star Trek, explain their story. In a flashback, the crew are renting videos. Fry mentions the phrase 'Star Trek', and alarms go off. It turns out that the words were banned during the Star Trek wars, which came about when Star Trek fandom turned into a religion that covered the Earth. All the video tape was destroyed and the followers killed. Fry sets out to find them and travels with Leonard Nimoy's head to Omega 3, where the tapes are kept. They crash land on the planet, where they discover that the rest of the Star Trek actors are stranded there, and have been given bodies. They meet an energy being called Melllvar, who found the tapes and has become obsessed with the show. He starts an eternal Star Trek convention. When he produces his fan script, the crew pretend they don't want be spoiled by the rehearsals and escape. Feeling bad about stranding the actors with Melllvar, they formulate a complex plan that involves shooting a laser into him. Unfortunately, this just makes him stronger and he pulls them back onto the planet. Conflicted by the fact that he has ignored some actual space heroes, he organises a fight to the death between the actors and the PE crew. They do so to begin with, but Melllvar's mother calls him away, and they decide to work together, using parts from both of their ships to escape. Melll gives chase, and Zapp arrests them and starts the trial. In the present, they carry on fighting Melllvar, and Fry convinces him not to allow the show to be his life. Melll beats him at identifying a quote, and he runs off laughing. The crews return home.

Quotes:

Takei: You see, the show was banned after the Star Trek wars.
Zapp: You mean after the vast migration of Star Wars fans?
Nichols: No, that was the Star Wars trek.

Zapp: I've never heard of such a brutal and shocking injustice that I cared so little about.

Koenig: When we woke up, we had these bodies.
Fry: Say it in Russian!
Koenig: (sigh) Ven ve voke up ve had zese wodies.
Fry: Eeee! Now say "nuclear wessels"!
Koenig: No!

Zapp: This court will now hear some very sensual testemony from this court's ex lover, Turanga Leela.
Leela: Go *beep* yourself.

Shatner: I'm...Slim Shady. Yes. I'm the real Shady. All you other Slim Shady's, are just imitating. So, won't the real Slim Shady ...please stand up ...please stand up ...please stand up.
Koenig: How can you do a spoken word version of a rap song?
Melllvar: He found a way.

Leela: I didn't want to leave them either Fry but what are we supposed to do?
Fry: Well, usually on the show someone would come up with a complicated plan then explain it with a simple analogy.
Leela: Hmm. If we can reroute engine power through the primary weapons and reconfigure them to Melllvar's frequency that should overload his electro-quantum structure.
Bender: Like putting too much air in a ballon!

Leela: Its not working. He's drawing straight from our weapons.
Fry: Like a balloon when ...something bad happens.
