Electric Fence |
Goal: Teamwork Materials: LOTS of rope, thick board (thick enough to support a girl's weight) Preparation: Take the rope and tie it around three trees, enclosing in a fairly large area. Be sure the rope is about waist height or higher. Activity: Place all the girls inside the electric fence. Begin by telling the girls that this rope is an electric fence that reaches to the ground. You cannot touch the fence, nor go underneath of it. The only thing that can go underneath the electric fence is the board. The goal is to get all the girls outside of the fence. If anyone touches the fence or a part of their body goes underneath it, everyone has to go back inside and you have to start over. Don't give them any other clues or hints, but allow them to figure out what to do from there on their own. Clues/Hints: 1. Get the lightest girl out first...she will be the easiest to get over without anyone else on the other side. 2. Use the board as a walkway. Stick the board under the rope (one person on each side holding onto each end) and walk over the rope on the board. 3. The trickiest part is getting the last person out! The easiest way (unless she can jump really high!) is to go by one of the trees. Stick the board under the fence holding it on either side of the tree (so both ends of the board are being held by someone outside the fence.) The girl on the inside can now climb onto the middle of the board and walk over the rope. Gearing Down: Allow one girl to stand outside at the beginning |
