The Web
Goal: Participants are able to learn more about each other on a personal basis and find out what each other has in common.

Time Repuired: 10-20 minutes usually but can be shortened or lengthened.

Materials Required: Yarn ball

The Activity: The yarn ball starts at one person.  The instructor will read from a list of different characteristic traits or activities.  Those persons who fit in a phrase will raise their hand and the ball of yarn will be thrown to each otf them.  You will want to throw the yarn across the group so the yarn forms a web.  After the yarn has gotten to each person, the instructor will read another phrase.  The activity stops when the instructor wishes to stop or runs out of phrases.

Adaptions: This activity can be used as a spring board into discussions on values, diversity, unity, cliques, or many other topics.  The questions should reflect the goal of the activity.
