Micro$oft* killed Battle Comm Micro$oft $ells a $imilar product, $o they bought out the competition, $hut down all BC download and $upport $ite$, and redirected the BC URL'$ to their own product $ites. The competing product i$ called Game Voice, and ye$, thi$ limited function $oftware download i$ free. The Micro$oft up$ell is that to get full functionality you mu$t purchase the GV hardware from them. I will not $upport Micro$oft by recommending thi$ product or by linking to their $ite. * My apologies for all the $$$. I always think of $$$ when I talk about Micro$oft. The Good News is that the BC software still functions! BC operates in a "peer to peer" mode after a client joins the session, and anyone with the BC software can operate it as a server to host a session. The limitations forced on users by the closing of the associated BC web sites are that the "Find Session" and a few other non essential features built into BC can not contact the BC sites as designed. You can find the most recent version of Battle Comm by using your favorite file search utility to search for "bfc_client_v132.exe", or at one of these offsite ftp servers: |
