ZM History

By Onkel.

Well, one could say it all started back in -96 or so when a group of bored young boys came up with the genious idea of forming a band. The thought was to play some kind of metal, allthough none of them had played much music before (i think). Who these guys were I can't recall but at least Erik Fors was one of them as was I. The first song, "Lilith", was composed under the name Nocturnal Desire and wasn't perhaps the best song ever but we were young and wild.

Anyhow, some members came and went and so did the bands name (Rigor Mortis, Rigor Mortiis etc.) until a steady lineup was formed including myself on guitar, Invisigoth on vocals, Akaka Booto on drums and Hollowman on bass(?). Before this the first real song had been written (Raped By A Chainsaw) and both musical genre (zombie metal) and name (Zombie Massacre) had been decided. Due to some personal mathers (girls), Akaka Booto soon left the ship and Invisigoth wasn't late to departure for the same reason. At this stage Hollowman realized his destiny and took over the drums as we continued for fame without either vocals nor bass. Time passed as we tried to find someone to take over the growl but due to the fact that we were the only ones into death metal, no one were to be found. Then it happened. Invisigoth suddenly woke up out of his coma and understood what he had done, and rushed back to rescue us from suicide.

Some gigs were played and two demos were recorded (split w/ Petter Räv and "Zombie Gangbang") but only the first split demo still exists. The other one is lost and where the four copies are no one seems to know... one was sent to Rickard Wermén in Deranged who we were planning on releasing a split record with, but that idea went down the drain as we got lazier and stopped reherse.

So ZM laid asleep in about 2 years, just waiting to be resurrected from it's grave... and now it's happened! New songs and maybe an upcoming tour and once again the future looks bright... or should I say; dead?
