Jim Thalmann, a musician and small studio owner, created Cardinal Records as a way to return some of the good will that was bestowed upon his family recently. Jim and his wife Ann have a son who was born with a very rare syndrome. Their son Daniel spent the first 2 months of his life in the intensive care unit. Daniel is still in and out of the hospital on a regular basis. As a result, Jim was forced to give up his job as a Home Inspector and spend many nights at the Ronald McDonald House in Danville, Pa. During some of the most trying times, Jim and his family received support from people and organizations throughout the community.
As a lifelong music lover, Jim combined the idea of giving to charity with helping unsigned musicians and bands, giving them exposure by showcasing their music on compilation cds. According to Jim, “It’s an idea that could make a difference in multiple ways. I appreciate the tremendous support my family and me have received. It seems like a natural combination to be able to help others and do what I love to do”.
After recently announcing his intentions on the internet, Jim has been receiving music to potentially be used on the first project as well as offers to donate services such as promotion and website development.
