Installing Maps.

Requirements:
  • Black & White
  • A map

  • To install maps into your game the first thing you'll need is a map, I'm assuming that you already have one standing by, but in case you don't we'll just download one here
This map is called multi-experience, whenever I use this filename you can replace the name with the one that you downloaded.
First unzip the map (it isn't always zipped but it is in 99%), do this by using Winzip or any other (free) program you like to use.

In most maps you will now find at least 2 files. One which is called, multi-experience.txt (replace multi-experience by the name of your own map) and a readme.txt.
Some maps might have more files in them but these two are pretty basic so we'll start with those.
First of, you always read the readme.txt file, it might have some information in it that you will need. The other file, called multi-experience.txt, is the map itself.
Every bit of code is written in here (you can open it in notepad to look through the code if you want but don't change it).
'Cut' multi-experience and go to the folder C:\\Lionhead Studios\Black&White\scripts\playgrounds and paste the map here .
The map is now installed, go to your game, play skirmish and load up the map.

In most cases your map is now fully operational, but if there was another file that came with the map, that had the extension, .lnd, you still have some work to do.
Files that end with .lnd are landscapes that didn't came with the the original game but were created by an individual later on.
Just like before 'cut' the file. Now go to the folder, C:\\Lionhead Studios\Black&White\Data\Landscape.
If you did it right you should see more files with the same extension here. If you do 'paste' the file here.

You should now be able to fully enjoy your downloaded map :). Goodluck.
