French Army Briefing:
Deployment:
Lannes may freely deploy his corps any where inside his deployment area. His troops have been skirmishing with the Russians for several hours during the night. Mortier may deploy his troops in march order anywhere in his area (they must be strung out in single file). Marshall Ney's Corps followed by the guard enter at point B in march order. Marshall Victors Corps enter at point A in march order. Ney and Victor begin entering on turn 1. Russians will move first. Game is 14 turns long; first turn is 6AM.
Special Rules:
Any bridge the French Artillery fires on is considered destroyed. A French artillery stand may destroy one bridge per die of fire available.
The Alle River is impassible except at the bridges. The darker line of the Muhlenbach is actually a series of millponds with very narrow areas between them. To cross this section of the stream requires a full turn rather than a half (a unit must start adjacent to the Muhlenbach, spend a full turn to move the stand on to the stream and then may move freely across the next turn).
Units forced to rout across the Alle or Muhlenbach are eliminated instead.
If the bridges across the Alle are destroyed and the road to Koenigsberg is not clear all Russian units on the French side of the Alle must make a minus 1 morale check.
Senarmont is the army artillery commander and may command any artillery stand on the French side. Several of the French Corp field artillery battalions fire as heavies. All French Corps level artillery may limber, move and unlimber in the same turn.
Victory Conditions:
To win the French army must destroy over half the Russian army. Exhausted divisions are considered half destroyed and collapsed divisions completely destroyed. On the last turn of the game any Russian troops who do not have a route clear of French or impassible terrain off of the board are considered destroyed.
