[-On Your Own-]

It ain’t hard to see
the frightened little girl
that you try to drink away
to forget about the pain,
And the addiction that was restrained
by these worn and tattered chains.
And the blood who’s spill
was all you had to know you were alive.

I know it may be strange,
but I believe your truth
is not yet known.
You’ve got to find it on your own.

On your own.

It would seem these scars have carved
a very different girl
from who I see every time
I look into your eyes.
So look me in the eye,
and tell me you don’t long
for all the innocense, without the consequences
that you seem to find when you’re in love.

I know it sounds strange,
but I believe you’ll have
no problem finding home.
You’ve got to find it on your own.

On your own

Yes there is a place we can go
Though I am forbidden to show you.
The more you look, the more you stray
from your destination.
But as they say, the world is round
and you may still get there someday
And though we are aged by the journey
we will meet again.

I know it might seem strange
but I believe you aint got
to long to roam,
If you walk it on your own.

You may think me strange,
but I think that in your heart
you’ve always known
You can make it on your own.

On your own.
