My Favorite Inhabitants at
the Bronx Zoo

If I tried to list all of my favorites at the Bronx Zoo, the pages would fill several websites because the Bronx Zoo is huge and has so many exhibits. So I can only show some of my "special favorites" here. Below you will see some of the Bronx Zoo inhabitants which I look for first on each visit.

Binturong

"Binturong" means "bearcat", and that is exactly what it looks like!

Roseate spoonbill

This roseate spoonbill seems to like to pose. And I like to take pictures of it.

Proboscis monkey

This proboscis monkey is one of my special favorites. I'm not sure why that is.

Puffin

This puffin likes to swim close to the glass where visitors can see how cute it is.

Leopard Cat

This is a very cute kitty. It is difficult to see in the World of Darkness exhibit, and, of course, flash pictures are not allowed there, so this is the best photo I could take.

Goliath heron

The first time I saw this goliath heron, I gasped. This is truly a big bird!

Gavial

This gavial is a very strange-looking creature. It looks like a cross between an alligator and an anteater.

Black leopard

This black leopard might not bring good luck to its prey if it were in the wild, but I certainly feel lucky to be able to see it up close.

Polar bear

This polar bear always looks like he is enjoying the scenery. And he certainly adds to its beauty.
