Here are my favorite episodes in no particular order! :) Thought I'd also include a plot description, why it's so great, and my favorite jokes from that particular episode. Well, looks like I have quite a few favorite episodes! (Even though this is only one third of what exists!) So I'm going to have to catagorize. S'okay. Will make it easier to navigate, right? ;)

Send me a list of YOUR favorite episodes and I'll post 'em!

Pest O' The West

This episode is the bomb! Beetlejuice decides to take Lydia on a Wild West adventure to Tombstone, Scarizona. Once there, Beetlejuice is tempted into being the sheriff of Tombstone, only to find out that the notorious Bully the Crud is on his way into town to wreak havoc. The jokes in this ep are really funny, not to mention BJ's accent!

drawn by Rachel

"I now intend to dive forty-twelve billion feet into this here glass of drinking water--wind currents permittin'."

"You can't get away with that and get away with it!"

Fester:"AAIIEEEEEEEEE!!!" Mayor: "What's the matter Fester?!" Fester:"Oh, just practicin'." Mayor: "Fer what?" Fester: "For this! (Bully barges in) AIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!"

Out of My Mind

If you need proof that Beetlejuice is madly in love with Lydia, THIS is the episode to watch! Beetlejuice won't stop pulling pranks on Lydia's parents, and even breaks a promise to her. For this, Lydia banishes Beetlejuice to the Neitherworld. He misses her so much, that he "can't get her out of my mind!" Poof! She's literally sucked into his mind, whereupon she finds out about the powerful Prankenstein, and his puny Will Power. Note the Shrine to Lydia! Watch BJ earnestly cry! THEN tell me what BJ really means at the end! ;)

drawn by Rachel

"Spaghetti? Ooo, I love pullin' pranks with spaghetti! I know i promised i wouldn't, but how can a meatball*poof* like me resist?"

"Rule number 1 for pullin' pranks without gettin' caught is: be invisible."drawn by Rachel

Will Power: "Do you bite your nails? Allow me!" *CHOMP*drawn by Rachel

"Ever notice how much easier it is to comb your hair when you take off your head?"drawn by Rachel

Poe Pourri

This is, to me, the second creepiest episode of the lot! (Right behind The Chromazone) Our fearless hero catches himself knock-kneed from reading Edgar Allan Poe stories late at night. Then, who should stop by the Roadhouse but the famed author himself and his rappin' raven! Beetlejuice starts having haunting nightmares all based on classic Poe stories. VERY clever episode. I counted once: BJ screams 33 times in this episode!

Lenore: "I thought I told you to meet me at the ramp on the bridge!" Poe: "Oh? I thought you said the dump on the ridge!" Beetlejuice: "Aw, thanx!"

The Really Odd Couple

This episode is filled with non-stop laughs! Beetlejuice blows up the Monster Across the Street's house as a side effect of a prank on Poopsie. He is guilted into taking in the homeless Monster at the Roadhouse, to his extreme dismay. Who could stand to eat Cactus Cream Pie? Soon, Beetlejuice is driven so nuts that he tries to move out of his own house just to get away from his live-in nightmare. There are a couple of really striking animation techniques. And BJ's pretty durn cute in his jammies, too! ;) Oh, I want to hug him so badly when he starts crying to Lydia!!

MATS's homeless song:
Oh, give me a home, for my home's done been blown
By the wind, or so it appears.
Oh, I sit here and wail my pathetic tale,
And I will fer the rest of my years!
My home's all over the range! Yeah, my home's all over the range!
So I'll sit here and wail like a theif in the jail;
My home is all over the range!

Another MATS song bit:
"Rub your belly with linseed oil, wrap your head in aluminum foil!"

"Me and my little Poopsie would be plumb honored to stroll you ladies across the street!" BJ: "Where else?"

Poultrygeist

Another bit of genius! Beetlejuice is being haunted! By a poltergeist? Nooo! A Poultrygeist! A ghost in the form of a chicken that is the most intelligent being on the face of the Earth! And boy does Beetlejuice despise the little bugger! He can't get a wink of sleep! Poor baby! This episode is all about him trying to get rid of the chicken, in some very creative ways. Of course, Lydia is the only one who can save the day...or can she?

"Whoah! That's one tough chicken! Must be airline food in his spare time!"

"Buster Spirit. Small medium at large. What can I boo for ya?"

Scummer Vacation

One of my absolute favorites! Lydia's going on a family summer vacation. Not wanting to be left behind, Beetlejuice joins them as a tour guide, and takes them on a rolicking Neitherworld road trip. The puns in this are just despicable! (in a good way) The Badly Painted Desert, The Grand Piano Canyon, Mount Grossmore, etc. Unfortunately, Charles and Delia get caught up in what they think is a re-enactment at the Aweful Tower and are almost beheaded! It's BJ to the rescue!

Charles almost drowns. "Time for some mouth-to-mouth restitution!"

Delia: "I spy with my little eye something green and prickly!" Charles: "A great big cactus with fangs is going to eat us!!"

"Oh, look at this artwork, Charles! The artist must have tortured himself to create this piece!" Charles: "Not to mention the model."

To Beetle or Not to Beetle

An amazing collection of Shakespeare gags! I catch a new one every time i read a new play! Lydia has to write a report on the Bard, and is having trouble. So Beetlejuice takes her to the Backstage of Beyond, where she meets several of Shakespeare's more famous characters. They're bored with their roles, and force Lydia to write them new scripts. Alas! If you know anything about Shakespeare, you'll be impressed with this one! The writers must have had a blast writing this! And this is the episode that shows BJ's gorgeous green eyes!

Lady McBeth talking to her naughty dog: "Out, *bleep* Spot!"

"Julius! Sieze her!"

The Three Witchs' Incantation:
Eye of newt and toe of frog
Wool of bat and tongue of dog
Flavor with a hangman's noose
Then add a dash of...Beetlejuice?
By the spinning of this bum,
Make something wicked this way come!

Puck turns Beetlejuice's head into a donkey's head. "Hey! Nobody makes a jackass out of me!" (whoah!! he swore!!)

Hamlet: "I'm tired of this 'to be or not to be' stuff. I want to be a man of action. I want to be HAMBO!"

"That's the trouble with tragedy. It's so tragic!"

"I'm beginning to appreciate what a creative genius Shakespeare was!" "He's a heck of a bowler too!"

Beetlejuice rings Shakespeare's doorbell. "Stratford-on-Avon calling!"

Highs-Ghoul Confidential

This is your classic highschool flashback. It's the rockin fifties, and Beetlejuice is the biggest dork in the school! Beetlejuice selectively narrates his past to Lydia and explains the circumstances of how he became the Prom King! Basically, he was turned down by every girl in the school, and ends up making his own robot date. Bully Squid Vicious becomes jealous, as she's quite the eyecatcher, and mayhem ensues. Beetlejuice perfects the use of his magic in a grande finale.

Critter Sitters

Pilot episode!! This episode has SO many references to the movie! Beetlejuice is SO Keaton, it's great! The opening scene has him singing Day-O! It's the day before the first anniversary of the day BJ and Lydia met, but BJ doesnt have a present for Lydia because he's broke! He snags an idea from Lydia, and decides to babysit to earn some cash! Beetlejuice as a babysitter? Neitherworld babies? You just know that means trouble! He accidentally turns himself into a baby and wreaks havoc on the Neitherworld, and Lydia has to testify for him to save him from being thrown to the sandworms! For the sheer oddity of it, you just have to love the song and dance routine that our duo bursts out into!

Skeletons in the Closet

The second episode! And just as good. Beetlejuice just loves playing pranks on people. And naturally, with that comes denying that he did them, or lying! This episode plays on the old idiom that every time you hide a truth or tell a lie, you get a skeleton in your closet. Beetlejuice has tons, and they eventually break out and tell on him! Lydia to the rescue, who also is dealing with a skeleton, being that she lied to mom and dad about a skunk that she was sheltering from a storm. The computer game was based on this episode.

A skeleton comes to Jacques' door and moans: "Beetlejuice really likes you, but he pretends he doesn't!" Jacques: "Do I know you?"

Lydia says that the aweful smell is aftershave for her father. Charles offers an excuse: "Actually, I was thinking about growing a beard." Delia: "Oh, Charles! You'd look like a gorilla!" Charles: "Well, why not, if I'm going to smell like one!"

Worm Welcome

Now here's a sweet one! Except lydia is pukingly moral. BJ is once again accused of some prank and sent to Sandworm land. But this time, he's accidentally called to the real world by Lydia at the exact moment that he's clinging for dear death to a baby sandworm rampaging through the Neitherworld--BRINGING IT WITH HIM! Oops. Lydia's upset because hunters wounded a mama jaybird (How Lydia is that? Exactly what i was thinking). She freaks out naturally, and insists that BJ take the baby sandworm back to the NW, but everyone in the NW has decided he's a hero for getting rid of the sandworm. BJ's head swells, etc. etc. He plays some awesome pranks on the hillbilly hunters, and the baby sandworm ends up thinkin he's its mother. AWWWWWWWWW! This ep shows both sides of BJ, which is kinda cool: his selfish greedy side, and his subtle caring side, masked in the "I did it for Lydia" excuse. Double sweet!

Personal Favorites

Don't Beetlejuice and Drive

I don't know why I love this one so much. BJ sets up a money-making scam by selling fake driver's licenses. When a crook robs him, he ends up getting caught, and is made to go back to driving school! Oh the horror! Miss Demeanor is his teacher, and he's put through Neitherworld Hell. I hate seeing Beetlejuice tortured like that! He's eventually let out, but is then kidnapped by the same crook robbing a bank! Guess who saves the day? BJ's wit is extra dry in this episode, and though doing stupid things, comes across as less stupid than in other episodes. For christ's sake, he uses the word 'astute'!

Robbin' Juice of Sherweird Forest

This is one of my all-time favorites. Upon hearing the tale of Robin Hood and his merry men, Beetlejuice decides to follow suit. "He steals money from the rich"... forget the rest! He ends up pulling a Sherrif of Rottingham, which the latter is not too keen on, who then tries to turn in our new anti-hero to Prince Jon Don Juan, the Sherweird Florist(groan!) Lydia guilts BJ into returning his money to the poor, then is kidnapped by the Prince, and hilarity ensues, though no real climax is reached. Beware! BJ wears tights in this episode! (still not as bad as his speedo in "Ship of Ghouls" though)

A Very Grimm Fairy Tale

This episode is completely whacked! Of course, that's what makes it so great! BJ acts as storyteller to the Sappy Face Ghouls, and puts himself and other regular characters into nursery rhymes. BJ and Lyds are Handsfull and Regretel, and are on a hunt to find out who stole Old Monster Hubbard's little dog's bone. The Neitherworld Underworld is really snazzy and atmospheric, and the warped nursery characters are disturbingly fantastic!

Dr. Beetle and Mr. Juice

This one kills me! I'd watch it about 10 times in a row, and laugh more and more every time. BJ has invented a new perfume! It's called 'The New U.' but it's never been tested. Turns out, as long as you're wearing it, your personality is essentially flip-flopped to your exact opposite. BJ becomes a prim, snooty business man, Lydia becomes a biker chick. Unfortunatly, she gets away and wreaks havok on the NW! Wacky animation, wacky script, a real gem.

Bewitched, Bothered and Beetlejuiced

If you want Halloween, this is where to find it! It's that time of year again, and if anybody can throw a H'ween party, it's Beetlejuice! Lydia is pumped to have an awesome time, but Percy follows her to the NW! He runs off, and leads them to the Witch's Ball, where only witches and warlocks are allowed to participate. Time for a little BJ magic! Enter Beatrice! BJ with pink hair--yummy! Unfortunately, the gig is a dud. Beatrice spruces up the action a little bit, but when the party finally gets going, BJ is discovered! Will they survive un-toaded?

Spooky Tree

May I introduce BJ the big-hearted? Lydia's favorite old crag on top of the hill, Spooky, is to be torn down by an evil road crew. So Lydia chains herself to the tree! Of course, she can't stay there forever, so BJ hatches a plan. Here come the uh-ohs! He finds some Frankentwine, and brings the tree to life! Spooky? no. The tree's a mushball! And of course, BJ juices the bulldozer driver. BJ's a real ass to the tree the whole time, but he's still helping it out, and it's pretty cute.

Hotel Hello

Charles and Delia need a vacation. So where does BJ take them? To the Neitherworld's haunted Hotel Hello, of course! As usual, Charles is freaked out by all the ghosts, but Delia blindly explains them away. Unfortunately for her, the dreaded Count Me-in finds her deathly attractive and plans to make her his bride! Will BJ save her in time? I LOVE Count Me-in! he wears a hawaiian shirt and looks like Arnold Schwartzeneger with fangs! Delia is painfully stupid! Poor poor Charles! Always the comic relief!

The Chromazone

THE CREEPIEST EPISODE EVER! I swear i was freaked out by this one! Not just for creepiness' sake, but for what they did to the Man! It's a Twilight Zone parody. Where shall I begin? BJ wins the lottery! He's supposed to get a wall-sized TV, but when he opens the door, there's this little old junky set sitting there. He presumes it's his prize and brings it inside. But the same show is on every single channel! The Chromazone! Then Rod Serling(I forget his BJ name) sucks BJ into the TV for a B&W nightmare come true! He needs BJ's help to bring down a monster--Ima Loony, a stunningly sultry (did i mention insane?) character of Serling's that's come to life and has designs to rule the world. Her host of athletic ditzy blonds is seriously something to be afraid of. She captures BJ and steals his brain, turning him into one of THEM. Lydia must save the day! Of course, there's a lovely slap in the face at the end of the episode--completely unexpected. Just when you thought it was all back to normal.....
