My brother who is at the moment of nearly 7 1/2 year old has gone through two Open Heart Surgeries. Raffay was born in june 13 1993. with a very complex heart defect. Almighty's first help come to us in the form of early diagnosis. His heart had atleast seven abnormalities. According to doctors, these were uncorrectable in Pakistan, and even in developed countries, corrections of these effects would take several years. again the almighty's came to our rescue. my parents were introduced to a team of very professional cardiologists & surgeons of U.K, and they cleared all the hurdles.
Raffay went through his first open heart surgery at the time when he was only 8 months old. and after that he started growing like a normal child. at the age of three years he had to undergo another more complicated which lasted for nearly 6 hours. his heart was completly out of his body and was in the hands of surgeons, while his body was on a herat lung machine, whose work is as same as of hearts.
The amount of pschological stree that we all had to go through was enormous. my parents were with Raffay and, we were thousands of miles away from them praying for the success of the operation. Raffay recovered speedily after the surgery, and came back fit and fine. And is now Mashaallah doing very well.
