Ewan's character: Robert Lewis, janitor-turned-makeshift kidnapper

plot synopsis: When Robert loses his job, he finds himself kidnapping his boss' spoiled daughter, who ends up teaching him a thing or two about that line of crime. But little do they know that two *heavenly* cops have been dispatched to bring these two lovers from completely different worlds together in true love and harmony. Apparently, it's fate. But what happens when fate needs some assistance?

* i adore this movie! this is filmmaking at it's finest, or at least just about. it's the third film from the trio that brought us Shallow Grave and Trainspotting, so you know it's hilarious! plus the fact, Ewan sings and wears a kilt at the end! you can't go wrong with that!!


memorable lines: 'Right, you asshole, i've got your daughter here and i'm gonna send her home to you in pieces unless -- oh, i'm sorry, madam, i must've dialed the wrong number...no, i haven't got your daughter, i have someone else'...no, we're not married...yes, i've read the same thing, it's very hard to find suitable young men these days...well, i'm sure your daughter's very lovely, in principle i've got no objection to meeting her...'
