With the help of our dedicated brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. It was founded by five phenomenal women, our FIVE PEARLS, who sought to change the standards of other sororities. These finer women Arizona Cleaver Stemmons, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, Viola Tyler Goings, Fannie Pettie Watts, Pearl Anna Neal chose to found an organization that would rise above and beyond the standards of established black sororities. And with their ambition they created an organization that would emerge into a world renowned sorority consiting of over 100,000 members world wide. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority was founded under the principles of Service, Scholarship, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood. With these principles in mind, members around the world have taken on the task of providing world class service to all mankind. Through our leadership, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has become an organization of many firsts: The FIRST and ONLY organization to be constitutionally bound to a brother fraternity: Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. The FIRST to establish chapter in abroad The FIRST to establish auxillary groups (Amicae, Archonettes, Amicettes, Pearlettes) The FIRST to establish a central business office with paid staff |
