(click here to read my journal entry for today)
Mandy Moore, me and Daniel inside the tomb of Rameses III
our little trolly which we rode up to the tombs at the Kings' Valley
smile, you are in Luxor...a welcome sign to the Valley of the Kings
a painting that showed as Osmond put it, the first pizza...not sure what he was talking about, I zoned out for a minute...
a pretty cool portrait of the Pharoah on one of the interior walls another view inside Rameses III's temple
Some of the paintings on the walls inside
a random Egyptian at the entrance to one of the tombs
the valley of the workers, where the builders of the pyramids and tombs are buried
the 3 story palace of Queen Hatshepsut, built right into the side of a mountain
one of the drawings is of a kangaroo, which means that they either had contact with Australia or the animals used to live in Egypt too
The temple of Rameses II
the workers actually made their own tombs much more beautiful than the tombs of the pharoahs...here is one of the interior ceilings
Mackey, stay away from the light!!!
inside the dark tomb of one of the workers
our last sunset on the Nile
the temple of Rameses had the most color left of any of the temples we visited
Rameses made sure the carvings were incredibly deep, so that no one could come through later and erase his memory
a closer view of the entrance to the temple
the money shot...
a sailboat passing right in front of the setting sun...
