When the "File Download" dialog box appears, click on "Save".
When the "Save As" dialog box appears:
- Select "Desktop" as the save location.
- In the "Filename" field, change the filename to "xpinstal.exe" instead of "xpinstal.zip".
Click "Save".
Once it's finished downloading, locate the file "xpinstal.exe" on your desktop and double-click on it.
When Winzip opens up with a dialogue box for unzipping the files, in the "Extract To" box put in "C:\TEMP" if it's not automatically there.
Check the box entitled "Recreate Subdirectories" (if it's available).
Click on the box entitled "Extract" or "Unzip".
If a dialog box pops up and asks, "Create C:\TEMP directory?" answer "YES".
The diskette creator utility should launch itself automatically, but if it doesn't:
- Using Windows Explorer, find the file entitled "MAKEINST.BAT" and double-click on it, OR
- Go to a DOS prompt, type "CD C:\TEMP" (or the directory where you download the files) and then run: "MAKEINST"
- (Be sure to put a blank floppy in the drive). This will create the Windows XP Installation Bootup diskette.
