note: the ZD All Star award will be given out to whoever i see fit, as often as i feel like giving it out. ZD All-Star
All-Star #2

I simply cannot say enough about the second ZD All-Star. During the summer preceding my freshman year of college I spoke to my soon-to-be roommate a couple times over the phone. The guy sounded pretty tough. I was expecting to walk into Robins 115 the first day and be greeted by some scowling meathead doing curls to fail. What I got was much different: I got Dave Donn. Dave (or "Donner" as some people call him, but not me because I think its stupid) is like no one I have ever met. The guy was undefeated on his home tennis court in high school, having once crushed an opponent while holding a gatorade bottle in his hand the entire match. He likes N'SYNC. He "watches" Red Sox games on his computer by following the pitch by pitch report on the internet. He loves hearing track people talk about their 1:54 LOWs and 4:20 HIGHs. He knows more girls but gets less action than anyone I know. I think he went a whole year without washing his sheets. He's wearing a Richmond Tennis t-shirt in 97% of the pictures taken of him in the past 2.5 years. He is nasty at hoops, carrying our 2 on 2 team to a 11-4 11-3 $50 victory (Jason if you read this you still owe me $25...i haven't forgotten). He came to the 2001 UR track team dork party dressed as a bad manifestation of myself. I could go on and on. The bottom line is that Dave Donn is both the coolest and dorkiest person I know. I tried to convince him to transfer to UVA with me but he stayed at UR with the hopes of making it to NCAA's. Well, he made it last year and if his recent play is any indication then he will be back again this year. But if things don't go as planned, don't worry Dave, you'll always be an All-Star.

dave donn deciding to attend the conference track meet...the year after i transfer. jerk.
