AMSOIL UNIVERSAL AUTOMATIC
TRANSMISSION
FLUID
IF YOU VALUE YOUR VEHICLE YOU
SHOULD NOT BE WITHOUT
AMSOIL ATF IN THE TRANSMISSION!

Formulated with synthetic
basestocks and the top-of-the-line additive package, AMSOIL
ATF far exceeds the new spec,
providing top performance, durability & efficiency.
AMSOIL Synthetic Automatic
Transmission Fluid (ATF) surpasses General
Motors Corporation's Dextron III requirements.
Oxidation limits tightened -- High
transmission temperatures, due to engine design
changes, downsized engine
compartments and aerodynamic body styling, lead to increased
ATF oxidation.
Oxidized ATF can sludge
transmission components. The corrosive by-products of
oxidation damage components.
Oxidation-thickened fluids do not flow well, impeding
shifting and proper lubrication of
clutch packs.
Shift Quality Improved --
Automakers are concerned about consumer satisfaction with
transmission durability and shift feel.
Cycling Durability -- Tests the
ATF's ability to allow the transmission to complete
thousands of up down shift cycles.
Band and Plate Friction -- Tests
the amount of force an ATF allows to be applied to clutch
plates and transmission bands
during shifting. Band and plate friction affects shift feel and
transmission durability.
Flash and Fire Points increased --
Dextron IIE Flash and Fire Points were 160 degrees C., and
175 degrees C. respectively.
Dextron III Flash and Fire Points are 170 degrees C., and 185
degrees C. As ATF operating
temperatures increase, so must their flash and fire points for safety
reasons. Naturally,
synthetic-based AMSOIL ATF's fire and flash points are higher than
those of
conventional fluids and at 236
degrees C., and 250 degrees C., far exceed the specification limits.
Cold Temperature Fluidity still important

-- Electronic controls in the
valve body are adversly affected by conventional
ATF's which thicken in cold
temperatures. AMSOIL's Dexron III Synthetic
ATF maintains its fluidity in low
temperatures for superior shifting and
transmission durability.
Change interval -- AMSOIL ATF has
a recommended change interval in mechanically
sound equipment of THREE TIMES
your normal oil change interval!
From Woodall's Southern R.V. June
1996 by Bill Farlow
"Should you use synthetic
transmission fluid? My opinion and recomendation is a resounding
"Yes." But your owner's manual says to use Dexron II,
Dexron III,. Mercon or some such recomendation and you won't
want to void the warranty by using
something else, right? Good. It is nearly always best to go by the
book. But if you read the manual a bit further, it also gives a
specification that the fluid must meet. As long as the fluid meets
this specification, it makes no
warranty difference what brand name it carries. Synthetic
transmission fluids meet factory specifications for allautomatic
transmissions. Check the specifications on the container against
those in your manual. Each new generation of transmission fluids
since Dexron meets the specifications of earlier fluids.
You can buy synthetic transmission
fluid from your Chevy, Allison, probably Ford and independent AMSOIL DEALERS."
YOU NOTICE HE SAID, "AMSOIL
DEALER". IT IS THE VERY BEST! And, for all practical purposes
you never need to change it! It will withstand more heat than any other!
YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO BE WITHOUT IT!
