Funky Rythm´n´Blues. Its that easy to describe the music New Orleans is so famous for. And that music has never been so popular as it is these days. The audience is no longer satisfied with a band just playing their music; They want a show! People wanna dance and have fun, and there is plenty of reason to do both when Dr Zulu Allstars enters the stage to bring some Mardi Gras to the Danish scene.
No Soul, R´n´B, Rap, Hip Hop or Funk band can truly say they are not influenced by the enormous effect The Meters have had on this music. This is where the funk was born, and ofcourse Dr Zulu Allstars plays many of these instrumental hits. Besides that you can be surden to hear Iko Iko, Hey pocky way and Jambalay, but many of these songs have been kicked out in the deep groovy funk, ofcourse with respect for the classics... Sometimes a DJ is added for that extra spice, and all this makes Dr Zulu Allstars a very unique live experience.
Dr Zulu allstars has played various Danish scenes with great succes, and is the regular house-band at the "Grock" café on Frederiksberg in Copenhagen. |
