course explanation
the only architectural course available in zimbabwe was the institute of architects exams. this exam could only be taken by draughtsmen who had been employed by a registered practicing architect for a period of two years and who had done the n1 to n7 polytech course. no official course was done by the architects but only the required training of the draughtsmen along with quarterly exams set up by the institute of architects. once the polytech course had been completed and all exams had been passed, was the draughtsman permitted to sit for the institues examination to become a registed and qualified architectural technologist.
