Categories: Normal and Utility

Each aircraft has specific categories that it can fit into, depending on how much weight and how many passengers are carried.  They are used for flying specific manoeuvres and for doing specific tasks.

Normal Category

In the normal category, the aircraft can carry as much cargo and passengers as is possible without exceeding the maximum gross weight, but certain manoeuvres (such as spins, steep turns and spiral dives) are prohibited.

Utility Category

The utility category is used for training.  Less weight is allowed, depending on the particular aircraft.  No passengers may be carried in the back seats, and no baggage is allowed.  In this category, spins, spiral dives, stalls and aerobatics are permitted.

Aerobatic Category

Less weight is allowed in this category than in the utility category.  This category is used for doing aerobatics demonstrations.
