This is a sad bit... kinda....
He was telling her to run, to leave him behind, to live. But she wasn’t listening.
“I can’t leave you!” She cried, dragging him by the arm along the ground.
“You’ve got to!” His voice was ragged. “They’re coming. You’ve got to get away!”
She tripped and fell, but still was determined to drag him along, to get him help, desperate to save his life, even at the cost of hers. “I cant!” She sobbed. “You’ll die!”
“I’m going to anyway. I’d rather die on the battle field than on a chopping board!“ The pain... oh the pain... It was blinding, breathtaking, almost unbearable. “Let me go and get out of here!”
“No! I love you Josh. I’m not leaving you behind!”

Calmly (or as calmly as possible) he traced a bloodied hand down her cheek, staining crimson on white. He looked up through the building haze, into her tear-misted blue eyes. “I love you too, Sarah.” It was almost too quiet to hear, but she heard it. “You’re so beautiful. Even when you cry. Just do this one last thing for me. Go. Please, they’re coming.”
She placed her hand over his, refusing to budge.
“Please go,” He was beginning to sound desperate. “I don’t want you to be here when it happens. GO!”
She lept up and away as aliens entered the area they were in. “I love you Josh!” She cried. “I’ll never forget you.” Then she was gone.
Josh watched the aliens close in on him, shaking, yet determined to face his death with dignity. “The last thing I will see will be your eyes. “ He whispered after Sarah, closing his eyes.
He heard an alien cry out in triumph, and bound to his side. The pain....
The alien pressed the point of his gun/weapon-thing to Josh’s head. Josh bowed his head....
