The resistance was having a meeting around a group of tables in the school library. Mersadies was explaining to every one how important it was to attack the aliens now, especially since they now had Josh back. Josh sat trying to look interested, but in reality he was bored. While Mersadies was inspiring every one to war, Josh sighed, leaned his head on his hand and drummed his other hand’s fingers on the table top. Studying the books on the shelves around him. Books. Hmmm... Fellowship of the Rings... That was a good book. I should read it again some time.
“What do you think, Josh?” Mersadies asked him. Seven faces looked expectantly at him.
“Huh?”
Kathy exchanged glances with Sarah.
“You weren’t even listening to me, were you?!?” Came the accusation.
“Yes I was.” He said quickly. “And I’ll even tell you how to get past the robots, if you want.”
Mersadies raised her eye brows in surprise. Kathy rolled her eyes but said nothing. Everyone was very interested in hearing how Josh always made it past the robots.
“Well, as you know, the robots track movement. Right?”
Nodds.
“Well, my people and I found through trial and error, that they see fast movement more threatening than slow movement.” A pause. He touched his temples. A dull ache was beginning to throb inside his skull. “if you walk up behind them, there is a bu-”
Suddenly he was looking right into the face of Gol’h, and Gol’h was holding him up by the neck, squeezing slowly. Grinning wickedly. Foul breath rushed out between the alien’s sharp pointed teeth. “Uh-uh-uh!” Gol’h tisked at him. “You are not to tell them that...”
“WHAT THE HELL?!” he cried. Panic shot through every tendon of his body, and he grabbed hold of the alien’s log thick arm trying to squirm away, lessen the preassure on his throat.
“You see, my pet, nothing, no one, not even your fellow terrains can save you from me. You are mine to do with as I please. Feel my wrath and tremble!”
Josh screamed as pain shot through him like electricity. “STOP!” He cried, writhing as the pain kept coming and growning. “Stop PLEASE! Oh God it hurts! STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!!! “
“No one can save you from me.” Gol’h laughed maniaclally. “But by all means don’t let that stop you from trying to fight me. Pet.”
Josh screamed. He screamed and screamed and screamed. Gol’h just grinned evilly.
“STOP!” A voice commanded from behind them. Gol’h turned and saw Kathy standing there.
“How ammusing. Another terrain. What are you going to do? Hmmm? Fight me while I am holding this one in a death grip? That could be quite ammusing.”
Josh screamed louder.
“No.” Kathy told the alien. “I am just going to say this. Josh wake up. You have slipped into a trance. Gol’h is not really here, we killed him remember? This is all just in your head!”
Gol’h laughed. “Yes, it IS all in his head. But soon... this will be MY head.” He released Josh, who slid to the floor with a sigh, then dissappeared. Kathy could find no trace of him.
She came back to her sences, kneeling beside Josh who was now on the floor curled up into himself. His body shook uncontroledly, and tears streamed down his face. It took some moments for her to realise he was sobbing. Not consciously, as he had now gone into shock. Fear was radiating from him. Kathy gently place a hand on his shoulder and caused him to sleep. He sighed then visibly realaxed.
Kathy turned and saw the others in the room watching, wide eyed.
“What the HELL was THAT!?!” Mersadies demmanded.
“Not good, is what it was.”
