1) One of the most famous of all Israeli Vautours, in spite of being
kept "top secret" for years, revealed long after its retirement from service, is
the "special" Vautour IIN "Phantomas".
2) This aircraft, originally the first production Vautour N,
(SNCASO c/n 4, Armee de L'air s/n 301}, served as test a/c at CEV, Bretigny.
This aircraft was one of several converted to test the Mirage-III's Cyrano radar,
easily recognized by the special pointed "nose".

3) The "Phantomas" was fitted for EW, jamming enemy radars, using the early ECM
"Yabelet" pods. {Two pods carried under the wings' outer stations).
4) Some dozen operational sorties were carried out by this aircraft during the war,
including the last sortie of the IAF before ceasefire.
5) To its ECM role was added, in 1968, also PR cabality, and this unique Vautour continued
its sevice after the 6-Days War even more intensively.
6) It is quite probable that the "70" was later fitted with more advanced
ECM equipment, as well as "Shafrir-2" missiles.
7) It participated in covert missions during the "War Of Attrition, 1969 - 1970,
at the Suez Canal and the Egyptian front.
8) The "70" proved to be during its four years of action, as most "profitable".
9) Adam Tzivoni flew the "70" for the largest number of
operational sorties, as test pilot, during the Six Days War and
during June and July 1970.
The sole picture of the "70" in service was found. {see below}
Most available photos were shot at the museum, in different dates.
