| Less Than Jake - Borders & Boundaries Fat Wreck Cords When dealing with punk/ska “veterans” such as LTJ you are guaranteed a good buy. The only problem with being a veteran is running the risk of just plain losing your creative edge, you’ve got to change your styles every once in a while, to not be repetitive. And saints be praised that’s the exact road that LTJ, once again, took on their way to recording Borders & Boundaries. Some songs suffer a repetitive chorus, and yes all LTJ songs end up being a fast guitar, with a horn loop, and nasally lyrics. But its the bass riffs and awesome vocal work that eventually save every song. There are some definite classics on this record ("Bad scene and a basement show"), so get to work and get paid, for LTJ is calling you. |
