The Catheters - S/T
Empty Records

Uhhhhhhhhhh. That’s all I can say, it’s not all good but it ain’t all bad neither. I’m just so
relieved that some people didn’t just give up on Rock and Roll. Lately rock music had
been ditched, because it just wasn’t selling any more. Every one had retired or converted
to pop or even punk, both of which have become main stream these days. I’m not saying I
don’t like pop or punk, obviously, I just blame pop music, and the commercialization of
punk, for the slow decline in main stream rock music. Any ways as for the record I had
planned to review. With in the first :30 seconds of this 29 min CD I was just starring in
amazement, almost in tears because I couldn’t think of the last time I had felt so genuinely
relieved to here the music contained. The vocals are almost forced out and the guitars are
smooth and flowing, there for complimenting each other perfectly. Unfortunately after the
3rd or 4th song I still thought I was listening to the first song. This record is BORING.
I’m convinced that the singer cant sing unless he's straining and the guitar players cant
play unless they are playing as fast as they can. I mean buy this if you feel deprived of
rock, but other wise avoid, because its just not a fun CD to listen to in the long run.
