This photo is from our County Recorder (Gila), Linda Haught Ortega. Her family was among the original white settlers in this area. It was originally believed by myself and the Haughts to be Al Sieber, but we now know it is actually of a friend scout of his: Tom Horn. Tom Horn is quite a controversial figure in Western history. He was a famous, and successful scout in this area, but he was involved (apparently) with a complicated killing in Wyoming and was executed. You can acquire more info about Tom Horn by searching the Internet or most any other large library.
