Getting Files onto your PDA and expansion card
3 Basic Options:
1. First you can install the program directly to your PDA via a hotsync. This will copy all the files on the internal RAM. Pay attention to the names of the files you are installing.

2. Using McFile, view the contents on you internal RAM. There is an icon on the bottom left of the screen for either the memory card or PDA. Choose PDA. You can select the files you've just installed by clicking the box next the name. Then select "move" at the bottom of the screen. A Directory List screen will appear. This is a graphical representation of the folders on your expansion card. The destination folder will be /palm/launcher. Select the folder and then tap "OK"

3. You can choose to select only the large databases, or also the prc file. Remember the PRC file the executable file. If you move it to /palm/launcher, there will be a short delay as the program is copied to the main ram for use.

Before you hotsync the files to the PDA, open the Install Tool on your PC. Install Tool is the program provided by Palm for installing new programs on you PDA. There will be a list of all the files that are to be installed. Click on "Change Destination" and you will be able to select any of the file to directly synced to the expansion card. By default, it will sync to the folder /palm/launcher. With Skyscape products, you can choose any and all of the programs to be installed on the expansion card. If you have a expansion card reader you can access the memory card by your computer via the card reader. Your computer will see the card as a removable drive. Just copy files to the designated directories. If you have a Sony PDA, you can use the program called MSImport on the PDA. Starting this program while the Sony is docked in the cradle will create a removable drive on the computer. That removable drive is your memory stick and you can copy, delete and move files as you wish.
