|My love for nature and adventure is the reason why I greatly enjoy hiking and jungle trekking. It can be the simple hill hike around Penang or the tough one week hike to Gunung Tahan, I enjoy them all for each hike is its own unique experience and each mountain gives me a different feeling every time. Humility is the name of the game. Physical and mental preparation comes a close second.
Penang has some wonderful trails good for beginners and experienced hikers. My ambition is to do a complete penang island walk which include hiking from Teluk Bahang to Muka Head - Teluk Ketapang-Pantai Kerachut - Teluk Kampi - Pantai Mas - Pantai Acheh and Pasir Panjang - Gertak Sanggul. I need to do some survey hike (starting October 2002!) to make sure that trails are marked and accessible. Of course, to complete the whole picture, one needs also to walk from Weld Quay to Teluk Bahang, Sungai Pinang - Pulau Betong and Gertak Sanggul to Weld Quay. It is hard walking on the road. This journey is not for the faint hearted.
