First of all, I wrote the story in 1998, sometime between February 10-12. So keep this in mind.

     You all know how religious groups protest against Marilyn Manson. Sometimes you think they will do everything possible to stop this group from performing. So I thought, what if they did something really radical and stupid someday, and I came out with this scenario of MM's future death. But don't take it too seriously ! At least I don't ! I had fun creating this page so you too have fun ! See, I'm not trying to say "That's what we need to do to Marilyn Manson", I'm saying "Watch out, or that's what they can do to him !" Marilyn Manson IS my favorite group, though i can take a joke about them. But if you don't, it is your problem, not mine.

     You might be surprised, why Fiona Apple ? In 1998 Marilyn Manson wasn't with Rose McGowan yet. But back then I've read in his book "The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell" what he thought about Fiona and I came out with the idea of them being buried together. Also Fiona Apple said in some of her interviews that she thinks she is going to die soon.

     Charles Monroe = CHARLES manson + marilyn MONROE. Nothing more. Everyone knows this.

       My name is ZZZombiE. I live in Russia, and I am Russian. I've been listening to Marilyn Manson since 1996. In 1998 I created this page.

     The History Of "Marilyn Manson Is Dead!"
       It was in 1998 when I first became interested in making web-pages. I've been listening to Marilyn Manson for 2 years then and wanted to make a MM page. But there have already been plenty of MM pages, so I was trying to think of something original and unusual. The inspiration for the story came from one personal page that I saw once. The guy wrote an obituary for himself and it was very funny. I instantly decided to write a humorous obituary to Manson. The very same day during the boring class of Economics I wrote the story. A day later "Marilyn Manson Is Dead!" was available on the Internet. After I registered the page at the Yahoo! Humor section, the site began receiving hundreds of hits and I was getting tons of e-mails daily. I didn't expect this kind of attention to something I conceived and created in just two days !

     Publications In The Press
      The big surprise came in 1999 when a friend of mine from Latvia sent me a newspaper with an article about Marilyn Manson. In the very end of the article I saw my story ! "Diena Dosug" newspaper didn't give any credit to me, but I felt great anyway !
      Later the same year I was reading a big report on Marilyn Manson in the Russian "Painkiller" magazine when I stumbled upon my story again. No credit as well.
      In the year 2000 I bought the "Star Magazine" - an issue completely dedicated to Marilyn Manson. Well you guessed it, the magazine reprinted my story without any permission and credit as usual. I complained to the magazine about this and they were nice to correct this error. Their next issue featured a small ad mentioning me and my web-pages.
      Finally, the Russian edition of Manson's "Long Hard Road Out Of Hell" which I think is not officially released, included the same article from "Star Magazine" with my story as well. And no credit again.
      These publications are the only that I know of that had used my story. And they all came out in Russia (Latvian newspaper was in Russian as well). I'm pretty much sure there are magazines and newspapers in other countries which found my site interesting enough to publish my story.        Statistics
      After three years of existence "Marilyn Manson Is Dead!" received over 60,000 hits.
I personally received 255 "good" e-mails and 47 hate e-mails. The guestbook has been messed up by someone and I don't really feel like recovering it...
