Sanctioned Weekends
Six weekends each year AAF&G has what are termed “Sanctioned Weekends” during which the discharge of centerfire and muzzleloading guns is allowed from 10:00 AM until dusk on both Saturdays and Sundays of those six weekends. The intent of the extended shooting hours is to allow AAF&G to host sanctioned shooting events which may take longer to complete than the normal weekend shooting hours allow for.
At these organized and structured shooting events (Sanctioned events), non-members may be allowed to participate without the requirement to have a member accompanying the non-member. Please note that unaccompanied non-member attendance is allowed for the sanctioned events only and does not imply or countenance such use of any other ranges on these weekends. These sanctioned events may include NRA-sanctioned Bullseye Pistol matches on the Bullseye Pistol range, IDPA, IPSC, and Cowboy Action events on the Action Pistol range, and squadded trap and skeet shooting on the Trap and Skeet ranges. Advance registration for these organized events is often required and non-members would be wise to inquire ahead of time via this website or by phone to 410-737-6800. A list of the year’s Sanctioned Weekends is found on the Events Page.
Again, please note that on these Sanctioned Weekends there is no change in the AAF&G non-member guest policy. Unless a non-member is participating in one of the sanctioned events, non-members are considered guests of a specific member and must be accompanied on all ranges by that member. Non-member guests participating in a sanctioned event must be accompanied by the sponsoring member on all other ranges.
