Dear Mr. Appleseed
This letter is in response to your advertisement in the 39th edition of Job Choices in Science & Engineering magazine.
I am currently attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and will graduate with a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering in May of this year. As indicated by my resume, my educational curriculum has helped me develop many skills not commonly included in the undergraduate program. Specifically, I have increased the breadth of my education by focusing on computer graphics and VHDL-based hardware design courses utilizing state of the art applications currently used in today's industry. In addition, my work experience has increased my knowledge of the UNIX and WindowsNT operation systems, my proficiency with frequently used engineering applications, and communication skills.
I would enjoy the opportunity to meet with you and to discuss my credentials in further detail and to explore what opportunities might be available at Compaq. I can be reached at (212) 555-1234 after 3:00 p.m. or via e-mail at jack.b.nimble@school.email . I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
(Rashid F. Abdullah's signature goes here)
