Day 1

Arrive Cape Town International Airport. Transfer to one of the city’s many fine guesthouses / or the Victoria Junction Hotel on the edge of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and the gay village. Rest of day at leisure. Welcome drinks. B & B.

Day 2

Cape Town. Tour of the Cape Peninsula : from the beaches of Clifton to the harbour at Hout Bay; to the Cape of Good Hope Nature reserve, the African Penguin colony at Boulders and the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. B & B.

Day 3

Travel via the fine wine estate at Vergelegen, the False Bay Coast, Betty’s Bay and Kleinmond to the south coast resort of Hermanus. Check into a guesthouse. Afternoon at leisure : cliff-top walk (whale-watching in season), swim, relax. B & B.

Day 4

Inland via the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, the towns of Caledon and Montagu to the fruit and wine-farming village of Barrydale. Wine tasting stop at one of the Breede River estates en route. Check into a guesthouse. Afternoon at leisure : hike, swim in the mountain pools, stroll through the village. DBB.

Day 5

To the restored Victorian village of Matjiesfontein, and the elegance of a bygone era at the Lord Milner Hotel. Afternoon stroll / swim / relax. DBB.

Day 6

Travel through awesome mountains via the historic towns of Tulbagh and Riebeeck-West to the Swartland town of Piketberg. Ascend the Versveld Pass to the Noupoort Guest Farm. Afternoon hike / swim / sauna / jacuzzi. DBB.

Day 7

Return to Cape Town via the West Coast National Park, Langebaan Lagoon and Blouwbergstrand. Afternoon at leisure. B & B.

Day 8

Cape Town. Table Mountain cable car trip, and ferry cruise to and tour of Robben Island. B & B.

Day 9

Airport transfer for return flights.
