SOLAR ECLIPSE SAFARI – ZIMBABWE JUNE 2001

Africa Outing is offering a superb tailor-made tour combining an African safari with the unique experience of an extremely rare TOTAL solar eclipse which will occur in south-central Africa on 21 June 2001. There will be time to relax in comfortable surrounds in the African bush, shop, gamble, watch game, swim and enjoy.

The safari starts in Johannesburg on Monday 12 June (departing at 10h00), ending back in Johannesburg on Tuesday 26 June (approximately 16h00). Included in the trip are : the magnificent Matobos region of southern Zimbabwe; the spectacular Victoria Falls; an unforgettable ferry trip across Lake Kariba; 4 nights at a comfortable lodge in the Charara Safari Area on the lakeshore; a trip to Chirundu to view the eclipse; a game farm outside Harare; and a visit to the Great Zimbabwe National Monument.

15 June VICTORIA FALLS – THE KINGDOM HOTEL. Twin accommodation. Sundowner cruise on the Zambezi. Bed and breakfast.

16 June VICTORIA FALLS – THE KINGDOM HOTEL. Visit the Falls. Bed and breakfast.

17 June Board the SEA LION FERRY at Mlibizi for a 24-hour cruise across LAKE KARIBA. On-board accommodation – deep-reclining armchairs (bedding provided). Lunch, dinner and breakfast.

18 June KARIBA – NZOU LODGE. Lunch, dinner and breakfast.

19 June KARIBA – NZOU LODGE. At leisure. Afternoon game drive. Lunch, dinner and breakfast.
